Breast Implants in Thailand

Breast implants are positioned in the different regions of the pectoralis major muscle to achieve the desired results of the patient. Different positions result in different outcomes and height of the breasts. There are four types of typical locations for the implant within the pectoralis muscle, these are as follows:

subglandular, implants are placed in the retromammary space between the pockets of the breast tissue and pectoralis muscle. In this position, it matches the plane of a normal breast tissue with fuller coverage like a natural sized breast. This is a very common position. The subglandular placement in a patient with thin soft tissue coverage will most likely result in wrinkles on the underlying implant.

The Subpectoral  location or otherwise known as the “dual plane” is placed under the pectoralis major muscle and the releasing of the inferior muscular attachments. This is mostly done  to achieve the maximum upper implant coverage while the lower pole allows its expansion.

The subfascial implant, the material is placed in the subglandular position underneath the fascia of the pectoralis muscle. This technique is still in testing but the advocates say that the fascial layer will improve the coverage sustaining the implant’s position.

The submuscular implant is positioned below the pectoralis without bringing it out of the inferior origin of the muscle. A total muscular coverage is obtained by putting the lateral chest wall muscles to the pectoralis major muscle. This approach is used to achieve maximal implant coverage for breast reconstruction.
