Brow Lift Surgery
Are you considering having Brow lift surgery in Thailand?
Loose and wrinkled skin on and around the eyebrows create an old and worn down effect on our faces. With a brow lift, however, it is possible to restore a more youthful appearance and therefore a more refreshed look. A brow lift will of course not stop the ageing process, but it could take years off your face, making you look several years younger.
The surgery is done by removing excess fat and skin and also tightening the muscle in the brow area. The procedure will also improve any lines around the eyes (for example frown lines will be corrected) and because of the muscle tightening, this could also change the eyebrow shape.
Before opting for a brow lift, you can do this simple exercise to see how a brow lift will improve your facial appearance: stand in front of a mirror, and place your hands on either side of your eyes, just above your eyebrows. Now gently move your hands upwards, (whilst still keeping your hands pressed to your face) and smile – what you see in the mirror is close to the results that a brow lift could have. It is important to remember that the texture of the skin will not be changed by a brow lift. Because of this, laser of chemical resurfacing is often used in conjunction with a brow lift.
The amount of pain experienced by a brow lift varies from person to person, and depends on the procedure. In general, more extensive procedures will have better results, but on the down side, this type of extensive surgery will have a longer operating time, a longer recovery time and of course will be more costly.
Most people only have this type of surgery only once in their lifetime, while others feel the need to repeat this procedure after about 7 to 15 years. As mentioned before, this procedure will not permanently stop the ageing process, but you will definitely appear younger looking.
The surgery itself is a fast procedure, taking only about one to two hours to complete, depending of course on the amount of work that needs to be done. The healing process is just as fast, with bandages normally being removed after the second day following the procedure. As with most surgeries of this nature, the patient will be advised to take things slow during the first week, but after that, should be able to return to all normal activities.
The general cost of the procedure covers your hospital stay, the theatre and anaesthetist cost and the post operative consultations. To qualify for this procedure you should preferably have good facial skin elasticity and you are generally in good physical and psychological health. If you are a smoker, it is advised to stop before the operation and also during the healing period.
A brow lift truly can help you achieve a younger look and will, in the long run, be a better option than for example having Botox done, which could work out very costly if done over a couple of years.
